Mkay. So, I've had some soap sitting around, waiting for me to rebatch. Because I'm not a fan.
I rebatched 1/2 the bars, no problem. Used a 9x9 glass baking dish, and just turned off the oven and left it in there. The soap hardened, I cut it into 3-4 big hunks, and just left it. I figure it's family soap now anyway...I'll just get to it later.
(I know, this batch is SOOOO not getting any love...)
So, I do the other batch on a different day. Same method, Oven in a glass dish. Turn oven off. Go to do some sewing.
Thought I smelled the smell of freshly baked soap later, but didn't think much of it....and then, I realized...
DH had started making dinner!
He won't commit to a "how long was that in there?????" question...we have a timer for the oven to warm up, and he STILL "doesn't know" when he took my soap out. It could have been as little as 8 minutes @ 450, it could have been 15 minutes.
Has anyone done this before?
The soap had BROWNED where the peaks were high. BROWNED!!!! It didn't/doesn't smell bad...still has the FO scent...the top of the soap DOES appear lighter than the first "successful" rebatch...
