I've used canola as a part sub for olive and I got DOS. The bar also ended up softer than my regular bars. I don't use it any more.

I got the same results as soapbuddy when I tried it. The bars got DOS and felt mushy. Plus it took forever to trace. I just didn't like the feel. I had a computer crash since I made it years ago and don't have any notes to refer to but it may have been human error in my measurements.

That is really good information!!! I did use Canola in my Milk & Honey Soap so now I'll just have to wait and see if I get DOS. Oh if the soap isn't white what will they look like? Or does this only happen in a white soap?
