Hi Amanda -
I got the Tea Tree EO to blend it perfectly yesterday. It's clear with no oils or anything.
I see this from your notes that I found in Adrianne/Apryl's email:
<1- 8 ounces of base goes into a Pyrex measuring cup that has been washed and sanitized
2-Next, I warm it in the microwave in 20 second intervals on high.
3-Once the glass is warm to the touch (thus believing the liquid is warm, too), I add the eo or fo I'm working with, and stir it in gently with a brand new bamboo skewer, doing my best to avoid bubbles by stirring slowly.
4-I cover the Pyrex cup with saran wrap and wait for it to cool to room temperature. And every time, I see that thin layer of oils has settled on the top of my liquid soap. I can see it even moreso when I stir or shake the container, because you get those wispy little tendrils throughout the soap base. *sigh* >
Can you tell me a bit more about your usage rates? I see a few notations about 8 to 10 drops per 8 ounces of soap - is that the correct amount? I think that might be where things got muddled from us. I see that Apryl asked for general usage rates but I can't find a response in her in-box. But we're chatting now so that's good. =)
I don't warm mine in the microwave and just slowly whisk in the EO so those are a couple differences from when I mix up the base. Also, I use more like 6 mls in 8 ounces for my EO usage rate in the base.
I'm looking forward to working with you to get to the bottom of this so you can use your base and love it.
