Teach Soap

Hello,

I am making a facial moisturiser and i'm close to getting my perfect mix (as you can tell i'm going for very whitening).

The only issues are it isn't very smooth and is quite tacky like some kind of paste.. And it stings ever so slightly when applied.. Possibly too much/need a different preservative?

65g water

5g Glycerine (palm-free)

0.5g Allatoin

OIL PHASE

8g Rice Bran Oil

4g Emulsifying Powder (Glycerol Mono Stearate SE)

2g Cetyl Alcohol

COOL DOWN PHASE

1g Vitamin E

1g Ethox Preservative (Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin)

2g Zinc Oxide

2g Titanium Dioxide CI 77891


I have some CAPRYLIC/CAPRIC TRIGLYCERIDE spare if using it could be helpful!

I would try this recipe without the glycerin. I haven't used this preservative. I use Germall Plus.

The glycerin is making it sticky, and the zinc is making it pasty.

Nelliemiles - how is this "a very nice homemade recipe? She already said it is pasty, sticky and it stings. That is not a nice recipe. It obviously needs reworking, and she is wise to seek help from more experienced formulators.

You need to read the posts more carefully before commenting.
