When using 100% coconut oil in soaping do you have to use the aloe Vera in this recipe?? Can I just use water?

You can use water instead.

I thought so, but every response had great things to say about the aloe Vera juice. I thought it had to be used only.

Thank you!

You can add a small amount of sugar to your recipe since aloe vera has natural sugars.

Ok. So I made my coconut soap. I used plastic to line my wooden molds and my soap harden pretty quickly (within 4 hours). It is slightly oily though. I'm not sure if it is due to too much fragrance oil or if the soap is like this until it cures. Any ideas? I made two batches.

I used 33 oz of coconut oil and the correct amount of lye and water. I used 1 oz of tobacco and bay leaf fo and .75 of burnt sugar fo in the first batch. Swirling some charcoal into it and honey mica on top for decoration. The second batch had 1.50 oz of hibiscus and acai fo from crafters choice. I used coral mica in it for color.

Both batches are oily coming out of the mold, but I took a small piece of soap and it lathered wonderfully.

Looks like you used too much fragrance. The most I would use for 33 ozs. of coconut oil is 1 oz. Be careful! Fragrance above 1 oz. PPO or higher then what the vendor recommends could be irritating to the skin. It can also create the oily film like you describe.

It's been a few weeks and the bars aren't greasy any longer. I'm thinking the fo evaporated off the bars. They smell great.

I have a couple of fragrances that I have to make waaay in advance, because even at the recommended amounts , they are greasy for several weeks. The bars harden nicely, but the greasiness takes almost a month to go away.

Fragrances should not be greasy. It could be you are using more then the recommended %, your soap started to overheat or there is a higher superfat.

Having just made this 100% coconut oil soap last month. As soapbuddy suggested, I probably used too much fo, but I used as much a was listed and a little over. Now a month later they are not a oily or weepy. So I think it's all good? But I won't use as much as fo in the future.

Thank you for your help.

Using more then the recommended amount of fragrance could make the soap irritating. Please use the safe % and always go by weight.
