Teach Soap

If you are working with an intricate swirl pattern, is it a problem if you do not bring your oils all the way to trace? I find that even if I use slow-moving oils and stop when I reach light trace, by the time I finish mixing all my colors some of my oils are super thick by the time it's ready to pour. I've been experimenting with simply emulsifying my oils, mixing in colors, and mixing until they are thicker but not quite to trace. This seems to work well, but I'm not sure if reaching trace is an important part of the alchemy of creating soap. Would appreciate any insight all you experts have!

You don't have to reach trace. Emulsification is fine. Just as long when you stop stirring and the mixture stays mixed, you can go ahead and separate the soap for colors.

I know the voices in my head aren't real, but they sure have some great ideas!
