Does anyone use this in CP or HP soap? I've been reading about it after a friend asked me to make some, but some sources say it is heat stable, while others say heat nullifies the benefits. I haven't found a good source for vitamin E in soap making.

Vitamin E is destroyed by heat. You could make hot process and let it cool to around 120*F (this is the temperature at which vitamin E begins to break down) then add vitamin E oil as part of your superfats. This is the only way you could be sure that the vitamin E wasn't "killed" by the heat, or saponified by the lye (like it could be in CP).

Thanks. I figured there was a reason it's not a common ingredient used in CP/HP. I may give it a try the way you suggest and see if the soap feels any different.
