This week I made to loafs of soap. One I covered it in 2 thick towels over night. The next day it was fine. The other I loosely layed a thin towel for a couple of hours and it started to overheat. The loaf that over heated had coffee in it would that be the reason? Also how come when you do CPOP soap at 170 degrees it does not over heat?

Overheating can be attributed to a couple of things; the total formula of oils/butters, the temp that you used to combine oils and lye, the fragrance used, or if there is any sugar in any of your ingredients (ie: milk, honey, syrup etc...).

Soap can overheat while doing CPOP. I've had it happen several times. :oops: Now I set a timer and check it every 15 minutes. 8)
