Teach Soap

Just finished my first loaf of soap. It's a kit named Bonnie's triple butter. I wanted to try a couple of kits first to see if I have what it takes lol. I was surprised how quick it went from a light trace to a thick trace. I don't know how you have enough time to do all I the neat things that you all do. In the video she wraps towels around the finished soap which is in a covered box as well. Do I need to do that ? I will also need to get one more thermometer and a bigger and sturdier mixing bow. Anyway it was fun. The next soap will be a bit tricker since it will have 2 colors. Hard part waiting to use it lol.

Congratulations

If a soap has a lot of butters or hard oils in it, it will reach heavy trace sooner. A lot of swirling & playing with colors is done at light trace.

Insulating with towels, you can do if you want, but it's not required. It just helps force the soap to gel. If your soap doesn't gel, it's fine, it's just sometimes a little softer and you may have to wait a little longer to remove it from the mold.

Thanks.It does have 4oz of assorted butters.which oils are hard oils?

Thanks.very usefull info. Lets try again with the photo. Nope. Man I post pic from my ipad and from my phone on several forums but can't here. IT SAYS 25 KIB is size limit. Anyone else have problems?

Here are the cut bars. Nothing fancy but looks like nice soap. Would you say that it reached full gel? Now the wait.
