Teach Soap

So this outdoor shopping place close to where I live and it recently got a new store. Its obviously a first time business owner selling handmade jewelry, clothes, and bath/beauty products. The store looked nice from the outside but then I got nervous with the beauty products.... The bath bombs were half spheres wrapped in foil but nowhere did it list the ingredients! Some of the soaps had an ingredient list. Other things like scrubs had ingredients listed on a board on the display and not on the individual products. I got really scared when I saw "fragrance and essential" oils in little half ounce bottles with no listing of ingredients! Just the name of the fragrance written on a paper label with pen!

Is any of this stuff kosher?

Um, I think that that is completely illegal. Isn't it?

I don't think the woman makes any of that stuff herself. The jewelry is made by locals but the bath stuff is a mystery. It's kind of scary not seeing ingredient lists on everything. Is the blackboard of ingredients even okay? I know a few places that do that but most of them put ingredients on the label too.

From what I understand the label requires: a name and address of the manufacturer, an approximate weight of the item, and a full ingredients list in descending usage.

Good to know! I definitely didn't like how things looked so I'm glad I didn't buy anything. It sucks that people cut corners though to make a buck.

If I were you, I'd inform the relevant authorities about this. Just to be sure that no one gets hurt from those bath products, just in case.
