Cooking the soap by Anne-Marie

Rio de Janeiro Hot Process Soap is made with 1 scoop of Bramble Berry’s “merlot mica,” and 2.5 oz. of Bramble Berry’s “Escada Rockin’ Rio” fragrance, with soap decals.

The Hot Process: With goggles and gloves firmly on, and small children out of the house, put all the above ingredients into your steel pot on the stove. With the stove on low, start to stir. A stick blender is very helpful and will speed up the process but is not necessary. Vigorously stirring with a whisk, slowly turn the heat to medium and allow the soap to cook. It will start to boil with little bubbles and after about 20 minutes, turn into a gelatinous mass.

Never leave the soap unattended. The soap will puff and boil out of your pot without continuous stirring.

1 oz.
1 pouch

2.5 oz.
2 cans - cleaned out

After cooking the list of "Initial Ingredients" add the above ingredients.

This recipe will fill 2 cans to their tops. As you are filling the can with soap, bang the bottom of the can on the countertop to help prevent air bubbles. You may need pot holders as the can starts to get hot. Put the lid on & push down some more, see if you can get even more soap into the can as the soap will tend to shrink and make a well at the top.

Some tips include waiting until the can is still slightly warm, inserting scissors right at the diagonal where the paper begins, at the top of the can, and cutting through the aluminum rim. This will allow you to peel the paper diagonally off the soap. Take a very slightly moistened paper towel and rub on the soap if any air bubbles are apparent - you can smooth them over using this technique, & it’s easier to do if the soap is still slightly warm.
