Making Pressed Flower Melt and Pour Soaps

step one

Prepare your soap according to the Basic Melt and Pour instructions.

step two

Pour a basic layer, thin, 1/4 to 1/8 inch or less, in the bottom of the mold. Wait for it to harden. (10 - 15 minutes)

step three

Press your flower into the bottom layer. We used Pansies in our example.

step four

Spray entire layer with alcohol.

step five

Pour clear soap on top of flower layer. Fill to rim of mold.

Spritz top of layer with alcohol to disperse any bubbles.

step seven

Something to keep in mind - pressed flowers WILL eventually turn brown in melt and pour. Because of this, you will want to make this project up just before you sell or give the bars away.

The finished product - a beautifully handcrafted bar of pressed flower soap!
