Teach Soap

I made a recipe the other day that was slightly too big for my mold. I put the excess in a melt and pour mold I had but didn't insulate it because I was afraid it would melt. (It ended up being a nice little example of what that soap would look like gelled vs non-gelled.) A friend suggested I could have used candy molds for the excess, which would make really cute little accent pieces, but I'm not sure they wouldn't get too hot and melt. Also not sure how easy it would be to get the soaps back out since it was a real bear getting them out of the melt and pour mold. Anyone have any idea?

You can use them, just don't cook the soap or let it go into gel. For getting them out, put them in the freezer. They should pop right out.

I wipe mine with a little mineral oil before I pour the soap in, helps with releasing!

The dollar section at Target is great for little silicone molds too! I've picked up at least 15 different ones this year, and turned down over 20 others. Didn't find a need for ones like hot dogs, bottle caps, and footballs LOL

I did! Mostly just left out sports, food and now the halloween ones. Wasn't impressed with them at all.. severed fingers, wonky shaped eyes, random ear shapes and some spiders and webs that were a little to intricate and detailed for CP (or annoying to fill for mp LOL). Was wanting some plain old everyday skulls! But not this year.

I have not been to target since late summer. The Halloween ones at dollar tree were not what I wanted either, plus my Halloween soaps are done. I am now starting to think about the Christmas soaps. What I really need to do is stop procrastinating and order some more oils and maybe a fragrance or two.

I found skulls and pumpkins at my local Dollar Tree but no luck with Christmas designs yet and that was really what I was looking for. I must be the only person I know who doesn't like Target but now I guess I will have to go see if I can find the dollar aisle!

Usually it is right inside the doors. 2 or 3 mini aisles with sighs that indicate it is the dollar section.
