I'm planing on making NG's carrot soap recipe.
The recipe uses 8.5oz water to 4.5 lye. With 4oz carrot babyfood.
Could I use 8.5 carrot juice, adding 4oz coconut milk to the oils -
before adding the carrot/lye.
1. Am I asking for trouble? I'm guessing it will heat so I'll frig it
2. What EO blend could I use....or none?
(I'm getting a little milk gutsy since my goatmilk
soap turned out good)

What I normally do is use minimum water required to dissolve the lye, then add the rest of the liquid as juice or milk.

The way that you stated it, you would be using 4 oz more liquid than the recipe calls for. The carrot baby food is not all liquid, so it does not evenly exchange.
I'd follow Irena's suggestion, it works well and is safe.
Make sure you run this recipe and all others, no matter where you find them, through a lye calculator. Even well known vendors can make printing errors. :)
As for the scent, use whatever you wish, just make sure that you use the proper amount. If you choose an eo or eo blend you need to look that particular oil up and make sure of the max use rate. Just because their fo is recommended at one rate, doesn't mean they all are.

When I ran the recipe, as is, soap calc said 12.54 oz water (not 8.5 per recipe)
That's why I was thinking of adding the lye to 8.5 carrot juice, instead of water
and adding 4 oz coconut milk, with the oils to make 12.

I don't have my coconut milk yet, so I'm running this through
my head....and all of you, now.
Just not sure what adding lye to straight carrot juice would do.

You can use the extra liquid if you choose, for sure. I didn't run it through the calculator, so I didn't know. Many recipes show full water and that was what I was worried about. That being said, go for it. I have not used carrot juice myself (I use real and baby food), so I can't say for sure, but try it! Don't freak out though if it stinks or turns a funny color. A lot of times the juices will odd colors and smell like a stink bomb, but they are fine in the end. Good luck and be sure to let us all know how you like it!

The last time I made carrot soap I used a mix of almond and sweet grass FO. It was about 0.4 oz of almond to 0.6 oz of sweet grass. I did an orange mica on the base and a thinner layer of chrome green oxide on top.

Almond and sweet grass sounds good. I do have almond,
I'll try an almond citrus blend and see.

If I add coconut milk to the oils, I'll have to soap really low,
like goatmilk. Coconut carrot does sound good.
But using 1/2 water to the lye and
1/2 carrot juice to the oils, like Irena said, sounds
less risky for me.
The carrot/coconut sugars might be too much for me to handle.
(This is what happens when I don't have all the ingredients........
otherwise, it would have been curing by now!)

FYI....I skipped the coconut milk. I also used a palm
free recipe from lovinsoap instead.
I just used the whole water amount as carrot juice.
Added the lye straight to the juice.
Fantastic! It worked perfectly. and feels really nice.
The orange, litsea, almond scent matches pretty good too.
