Teach Soap

I saw on a website, somewhere, a beer soap made hot process.
I'm planning on doing that....but, what about adding a layer of
white melt and pour for the foam? I was thinking of just mp layer,
not whipping it.
Would I pour the mp on the beer soap right after I glop it in the mold?
Or wait till the beer soap has cooled 24hr then pour the mp on?

So I may be off a little here, never having made hot process... why do you want to do the foam with melt and pour? With hot process do you not do the f\o at the very end... so could you not take some out add TD to it, maybe add some water and whip it a little then put on top? This was not hot process, but maybe HP could be done almost the same way.


If you do want to use the M&P on top I always do it before it cools off... if a little melts into the CP\HP I still think that would look ok. I am not sure you would get the two to adhere otherwise. Alcohol sprayed between the layers has never worked for me with CP\M&P.

I thought of whitening some hp for the top, but thought
white mp would look good too, more of a contrast.
Thanks for the mp layer on top of the fresh soap.....that's
just what I needed to know....I'll try that.

The only issue I've come across with my cp/mp (or hp/mp) mixed soaps is that the MP tends to shrink as the soap cures. It gives the soap a neat effect, but it also tends to break any bonding it has made with the surface of the soap. Your MP tops may shrink and literally fall right off the tops of the hp bars.
