Hello all

I have been making the MP soap using Lemongrass pure EO and it does eliminate body odor. Now I've started making CP soap using 2% Lemongrass EO, 1% Kaffir Lime eo and 2% Lemongrass powder. However, the effect in eliminating BO is not as good as the MP soap.

Is there anything I can do in my CP soap to make it equally effective as the MP soap?? Really need help. My test subject is my son -in-law who suffer from huge BO.

Citrus EOs vanish from cold process soap very rapidly, but you can anchor it with patchouli, vetiver, or clove. There are other anchors you can use, but I'll let the experts add more info on that.

Is that EO amount 5% of your total oils? That sounds like a little much to be using in CP soap.

I used a total of 3% of eo (lemongrass 2% + 1% kaffir lime eo).

I also add lemongrass powder of 2%.

If I add patchouli to anchor it, what wld be the rate and would it still give the same effect in eliminating body odor. I was thinking to do lemongrass mp soap and make it as embedded it into Cp soap. But I'm not sure it wld work.

I've heard others say that it should be used at no more than 10% of your fragrance blend. Its purpose is not necessarily to add any noticeable smell, but to help your citrus EO stay in your soap longer.

Citrus is a top note, while patchouli and clove are base notes.

Litsea is a citrus anchor and much less expensive than patch or vetiver. It also won't greatly change the scent because it has a light lemon type scent itself. It doesn't accelerate or discolor either.
