So I finally got around to making salt bars. Poured them in to individual silicone molds and popped them in the oven on 170 to gel. After 1 hour they never gelled so I turned it off so I wouldn't forget they were in there. Not sure why they didn't since from what I understand 100% CO soaps gel fairly easy. Also on another forum I saw where someone made and 80% OO 20% CB LS. I have been looking for a good body wash kind of soap so I decided to give it a go. That's where I ran into um an issue? Instead I did 70% OO, 20% CB, 5% Castor, 5% CO ( for bubbles ). Used the glycerin method and dissolved my KOH in 3 parts glycerin 1 part Water. Once it started coming together it never went through "trace" went straight to Taffy but not all of the oil got mixed in. Thought I was going to break my spoon trying to stir it up. What caused this? Ive made LS before using the glycerin but never with that high of an amount with a butter before. I have never had a CP soap seize on me but in my mind this is what it would look like if it did. I eventually got it all broken up and mixed in the rest of the oil. Hope it turns out and I didn't kill my stick blender

My salt bars get hot pretty fast, but you can't tell they are gelling on the outside like regular soap. As far as the LS, I make mine with all glycerin and no water. It goes to the taffy stage right away. You need more then a spoon to stir to incorporate all of it. How much did you superfat? I normally do 3% and that works fine for me.

So I tested this and of course it is cloudy but I was expecting that due to the cocoa butter so I zap tested and it is fine :) Just started diluting. Here comes the fun part. Starting at a 2:1 dilution. Pretty sure it wont be enough but diluted my tester 3:1 and its still pretty runny.

I would leave it be for now and reheat it if need be tomorrow for the chunks to dissolve. I get a "skin" on top sometimes and I just skin it off.

Still diluting this. The little I diluted yesterday I tossed. When I started diluting it was still kinda chunky applesauce like and I don't believe it was done even though it didn't zap me. When I got home from work this morning my paste was like paste and not chunky applesauce like so I am trying again. Started at a 1 part paste 1 1/2 part water and seems to be diluting fine however I am not sure what it will be like after it cools. Guess I will find out when I get home from work tomorrow morning

Actually Irena I have white chunks floating around with that high of a % in cocoa butter is it unsaponified fats? Will they dilute out or should I remove them and be done with it?

If it was me, I would just skim them off and be done with it. :)

Well here it is. Left my hands feeling nice and smooth. I know LS benefits from a cure time also however does the undiluted paste itself get milder after time or does it start when you dilute it?
