I came up with 2 blends that I like for halloween soaps, however I am using EO's I have never soaped before. My question is how many oz. ppo should you use for Patchouli and Ylang? Also will be using 15x Orange for the first time. I have only used 10x orange in the past so should I cut down on that too? This will also be my first soaps blending other than simple 1:1 ratios.
my blends are
3 parts BB's dragons blood, 2 parts Ylang
2 parts 15x orange, 2 parts vanilla FO, 1 part patch
both soaps will be 6# batches containing 2086g oil.

Patchouli and 5x orange are 5% in bar soap, but I have never seen or used a 15x so you will need to verify that with the vendor, as they should have the IFRA cert on file. As for the ylang ylang I will need to look that one up after I get home and post it to you then.

Blends get a little tricky since you do not want to use the full amounts on each scent. So I usually begin by making a "master batch" blend. I will start with the predominant scent at full max rate and add all the others proportionately. Since you certainly do not want too high of a % scent, no matter if each individual item is below its own max rate, this master batch will allow you to then use the appropriate amount. Once it is made, mix well, then add into your batter from it. This takes doing the math first, to verify your final amount won't be too much of any one ingredient, but using .8 oz ppo from the master blend is quite a bit easier than doing it all individually while trying to maintain the correct proportions. Plus, then you will have more already made that you can use to make lotion or scent bath bombs or whatever.

Okay, the max usage rate for ylang ylang (all pressings) is also 5% in bar soap.
Much luck with your blend!

Since some of these discolor I broke my soap batch in 5 parts and this is what I came up with. All oil weights were 417 grams
There were 3 parts of dragons blood FO so I came up with 75g for 1251g and 2 parts of ylang which is 29g for 834g oil weight

then 3 parts vanilla FO so 75g for 1251g oil weight and 1 part each of patch and 15x orange so I did 15g each for 417g oil weight

Does this look right? I split them up this way because the Dragons blood and vanilla FO's discolor so dark I was going to color them black anyways. All my recipies are in soapmaker 3 and I have my fragrance amount set to 5% of total oil weight. The suggested amount for the DB/Ylang is 104g and I am sitting at 104g.
The Vanilla/Patch/Orange is at 105g suggested amount 104.

If I am understanding you correctly, you did a batch of 2085g total. That means that your total fragrance should be no more than 104.25g, which is 5%, so you are over-scented if you did 104g in each portion of your batch.

Yes I did 104g total for each batch. I did the first one today did 75g DB FO and 29g Ylang which totaled 104g fragrance for the whole batch
