I just bought a planer on Etsy and I am not that thrilled with it. Granted, I am a new soaper but when I got it the blade was crooked so I tried to fix it and that did not go well but I finally got it. And when I plane the soap it does not come out smooth. it is bumpy. Am I doing it wrong?

I have a planer and my blade isn't crooked. I would contact the person you bought it from and let them know.

i fixed it and it is not crooked anymore but i feel like the soap should slide over it and it does not. it requires a lot of force and the soap ends up bumpy. if you have ever seen Cars - it kind of looks like the road McQueen fixed the first time before he had to tear it up and start over.

For my planer it does take some pressure, but the blade glides over the soap creating a thin sliver. Just watch your fingers!

that was a few days ago. it is much better now. when i plane some more soap tomorrow i will try to upload a pic of the bumps. :lol:
