Teach Soap

I watched a video with this lady that lives in the hills of TN I think and she puts alot of lemon juice in soap. She said it helps with the ph level she did not measure it and the same with her E.O.s no measuring. I had never heard of putting a lot of lemon juice in soap.

Does that help at all?

Nope! In fact, the acidity can interfere with the saponification process by neutralizing some of your carefully weighed lye.

If this is the same lady that I'm thinking of, please don't follow her instructions. You should always weigh everything including essential oils. As far as lemon juice, it neutralizes some of your lye. If you add too much, you will end up with a caustic mess.

I am sure it is the same one you are thinking of. When I saw the video I was thinking I would not follow her way because I would be scared that I would mess things up and some of those oils and butters and things are too expensive to totally ruin.. I was just curious as to why she would add lemon juice
