Hi,

I decided to make some beer soap but after putting it in the mold noticed that it started to 'sweat'. It started seeping what looks like the original beer mix.

Also, during the mixing process it started to rice a bit. I made a smaller batch and none of this happened. Is it the beer or my mixing? Not sure what I'm missing here.

Thanks again.

DC

Did you boil off the alcohol from the beer? Did you use a fragrance? If you didn't boil off the alcohol, that can make your soap rice or seize. Did you use a stick blender or a whisk? Did the soap overheat?

Hi,

I'm pretty sure we boiled off the alcohol. I mean, we boiled it and I think we got it all. No fragrance was added and I hand-stirred the batch. I read somewhere that it was lye but the sweating liquid is the color of dark beer.

Thanks!

Ok, then it's possible that the soap started to overheat, due to the natural sugars in the beer. I would let it cool off and let it be for now.
