 Post subject: Beeswax candle question

You can tell that I am a newbie by this question, I have a huge block of beeswax and want to venture into candles, preferably tarts and votives for right now. What else do I need besides beeswax and coloring and fragrance? I have the clamshells and am not sure if it will release as well when they are finished. Thank you!!

Wicks. :) A pouring pot. And be careful when melting the beeswax; it's flammable, so use a double boiler, not the microwave and never, ever directly on a heat source.

They should release fine. Beeswax shrinks a bit as it hardens. You might also need to do a pour to top off, for the same reason. The beeswax can shrink on top a bit, causing a crater.
