The first half needs to be cool enough to stand on its own. Then you take out the divider and pour the other half.

You should make two candles with the mold. You pour the whole thing with seperater in place in black. when hardened remove it all then you pour one whole thing again in white, then you have two perfect two peice candles. if you want you can tack them together at the base to make them one unit but stay back from the edges.

I'm curious about the ying yang candle and what it looks like. I'm new to the forum and to soap/candlemaking. Do you have a pic of the candle so that I can see what one actually looks like? I thought it would be a neat candle to create.

I finally made yin yang candles,using the pour 1 color in the mold with separator in place and then doing the 2nd color....I realize I wasn't careful with temps so there were wax imperfections. My only problem was separating the 2 pieces. The middle piece didn't want to release from wax...it took effort and there was some breakage..so finishing that edge was challenging. I did wait until the candle had completely cooled before removing the candle from the molds....I am thinking mold release may help..but does anyone else have any ideas?
