Teach Soap

As I read these posts it seems like people have a lot of issues choosing a wax and a wick. All I want to do is make some small travel candles to accompany my soaps. I am thinking of making and using the supplies Anne-Marie uses in her travel tins. Has anyone made those according to her specifications and have you had and issues?

But I can tell you to be careful about selling them with your soaps if you don't have the proper insurance. I wanted to add some handmade tea light candles to my soap gift baskets and found out the insurance co wanted to add $6,000 a year to my business coverage.

I agree. One of the reasons why I no longer sell them. Also, anytime you change your container, fragrance, wick or color, you will need to test all over again.[/quote]

I don't have that kind of patiences.

And I think about the amount of candles I could wholesale a year for $6,000. Insurance company doesn't care if I wholesale from another company.

I know it would be lovely to match up the scents for both candles and soaps, but imo its not worth the added insurance expense.

Bummer. I guess will just try some for myself.

You could ask your insurance broker, maybe mine is so high as I plan on selling at a store.

Maybe reed scent difusers would be a better option

A fellow soapmaker told me she didnt need added insurance to make "tart melt". Maybe you could start with them. Reed difusers sound nice too.

I wonder how insurance would feel about little 4 oz travel tins?
