Has anyone tried BB's lilac FO in soy tarts? My mom would love some, but I'm not sure what sort of throw this particular fragrance has.

Just the one fragrance. And no, not necessarily. Some fragrances work in bath and body products, some in wax, some in both, some in only certain types of wax. With fragrances in candles (tarts etc) you are looking for throw [the ability of the melting wax/fragrance combination to make the room smell nice], while in soap (and bath products) you are looking for fragrances that don't morph to smell like other things (generally).

Gottcha. I see. Lots of testing these companies do for sure.
Fragrance oils can run deep in your pocket.. :(

Hestey ~ I'm going to hijack your post for a moment, does BB's Lilac smell like lilac in CP? I'm looking to replace True Lilac from Scent-Works and so many other lilacs morph into a nasty perfume smell :(

P.S. I don't know how BB's Lilac performs in soy, but I know that NG's & WSP's doesn't have a strong throw and they're both a very powdery scent when melting.

I find BB's Lilac to be very close to true in CP, like most florals it has that subtle artificial undertone. It is the closest I've come to standing beside Mom's 200 year old lilac hedge though! I've tried lilac from BB, WSP, NG, Peak, CS, and MMS. BB is my favorite of all of them!

BB emailed me and said their testers had good results with soy wax, but suggested I try it for myself before making a large batch of tarts.

I'm making a batch of test candles today that will include BB's Lilac; I won't be actually burning them for at least a week, but if you're still in need of reviews then I can come back with my thoughts.

A properly wicked candle gives off very little in the way of fumes. A quick poof of smoke if blown out should be all you get.
