Hello fellow soapers!

I am in the market for Phenolphthalien and not sure if I know how to order it and if the most effective for testing pH levels in cold soap bars. I read it should be 50:50 in water and alcohol...does this make sense to you?

Thanks,
Joann

Welcome!
You can get it here> http://www.aaa-chemicals.com/phenolphth ... cator.html
It's already pre-diluted and ready for testing. If it turns pink, the pH is too high. If it stays clear, then you should be good to go. I presume this is for liquid soap? CP soap does not need it if all your calculations were made correctly.

I agree with soapbuddy. Phph is for liquid soap. You can apply pH-test paper for bar soap, but as soapbuddy mentioned, if the calculation is right you actually do not need to check the pH.
