Hi, I'm new to this wonderful and fun world of soapmaking. I've made quite a few batches already. Learning as I go. So glad I found this board. I have watched a video on making a fine pencil iine using Mica. My question is could the same technique be done using a powdered colorant? or should only Mica be used?

Welcome!
That depends on the powdered colorant. If it's an FD&C color, that much will seriously bleed.
