Hi all,
Would love to post some pics of my soaps, but cannot figure out how to post pictures. Any advise, much appreciated.

I use www.photobucket.com, it's free to set up and maintain an account, then you just upload the photos into your album, and copy the url to post in the forum.

I also use photobucket and find it really simple and reliable, but
http://www.flickr.com/ and http://tinypic.com/
are also sites that i've heard good things about

To post a picture on our Forum you first need to post it online at one of the sites recommended above.

Then you copy the exact URL of your picture

click the "Img" button in the 'Post a Reply' window
paste the full URL then click the "Img" button again.

It will look like this in the post window:

Code:
[img]http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3253/2489584611_3f6b69205e_m.jpg[/img]

And like this when you preview it:

Hope this helps!

An avatar image width can be no greater than 80 pixels, the height no greater than 80 pixels, and the file size no more than 6 KB.
So check those sizes.

If you don't have a photo editing program on your computer try one of these free online services

http://www.phixr.com/
or
http://pixenate.com/

Thanks, I did it... I did it ~ Yippee!!!!! : )
Tried using Pixenate & it worked quite nicely. Much appreciated!

Also tried "inserting an image into this post" which seems to have worked? Last weekend my family & I hiked down to our spring-fed creek w/ our dairygoat herd... If you look closely, you can see silhouettes of our goaties (which we shall be using their wonderful milk to make homemade "GOAT'S MILK SOAP") in the background.

Have a wonderful day & HAPPY SOAPMAKING!

It's pretty, but it's huge! Is there any way you could make it smaller?

SOAPBUDDY,

Trust me "I tried" and it didn't let me adjust it?
I wanted it a bit smaller myself....

Does this site let you go back and edit your own post... if so, I haven't seen/figured it out yet?

Oh, ok.
I don't think you can go back and edit.

Welcome to the forum, earthgirl! You should post your picture under the American Flag soap contest topic and get a $5 discount from BB. :) Looks like you're doing great though! Happy Soaping!

Using flickr... how do I get the URL of the photo?? I tried copy pasting the internet address where the photo is... and also tried right clicking on the photo itself, but neither link works when I copy paste it between the IMG tags, at least not when I preview the post.

Hi Celeste,

I think you have to be logged in to Flickr to get the URL tags.

When you look at one of your photos on Flickr there will be a button above it that says 'all sizes' if you click on that it will take you to a page with different size options of your photo. If you are trying to post someone else's picture this option may not be available if they have set their permissions to all rights reserved. But if you are posting another person's picture you should always ask them.

Select the size you want to post (I usually do small)
and at the bottom of the page will be the exact url you need to paste into your post.

When you click preview it will show-up if you got it in there correctly.
