I tried the soaking in glycerin thing to see if it would work: fail. Peppermint still turns brown. But if you can somehow make that brown color work to your advantage in the design...eh.

Us botanists use varathane to seal the colours into samples. Not sure you'd want this in your soap though. Unless you can find the varathane based on beetle carapace (it is a type of food varathane).

Well here's my pic of the lavender buds that I soaked in glycerin and then topped it on my rebatch soap. The soap used for rebatch was over 8 weeks old and the soap was very cooled off when I scattered the lavender buds on there.

This pic was taken 24 hours after I made it. The buds are more dark brown now. I think adding the glycerin to the buds increased the color change, since usually it takes a few days for them to turn brown when not using glycerine.

Funny story; Mom washed my mouth out with soap and I realized I loved the taste. She'd find literal bites out of the soap after that LOL :lol:

Expect lifebuoy YUCK!!!!! That was her weapon of choice after she found out it tasted gross.

By the way, do you know any reason why they have taken down their Tangy Tutorials? I loved those :cry:
