Just wondering, how much an average liability insurane is, to make candles and soap.

You could contact your home owners/ renter's insurance company and find out. A lot of times they can add it to your policy.

If you want to sell your soaps and are concerned about liability and cost, you could do what I did and start a Limitied Liability Company. Which means that if anyone ever gets a rash or something and sues you, they can't take more than the assets of the company (they can't sue you personally). Covers your butt and is probably a lot cheaper than insurance.

i did both. i feel much safer that way. i created an llc, and got insurance from RLI.

my yearly pemium is about $300 for a 1 million dollar liabilty coverage policy. word to the wise though, check that your insurance co will cover candles. some do not. RLI does not.
