I've been wanting to try out water soluble paper and eraser embeds for ages - so why not try them both in one soap? Eeek! Despite the double challenge I think it came out pretty well! This is for my stepdaughter Amanda Panda.

A few little things I might try differently next time:
- I put the paper in too early and it warped in the melted soap. Will wait for the first layer has hardened, the spray and pop it in.
- I forgot to spray the panda with alcohol! It wasn't a huge deal...but he has a few bubbles in quite an inappropriate place.
- I over-blued the clear soap. Darn it! I can't get that right. It might have been fine if I'd just left it alone.

Let me know what you think!

Well, despite the "little things" you forget, it looks adorable! I love it! I love experimenting, and I hope to try the water soluable paper at some point. Thanks for sharing! :)

I love it! I don't think there's anything wrong with it. Great job!

Darling and just plain cute. I bet Amanda panda will love it despite the "little things". It looks to me that the paper went on second to last, is that correct or am I mistaking?

Thanks everyone! I hope to try out another design this weekend. Will post a pic if it's a success. :)

I love it! Would definitely buy one if I came across it at a street fair.

I think it looks simply stunning and cute! I love it. Very good job.
Unfortunately I can't find this kind of paper here in Greece :(

I've made a few different designs since the panda soap but they've been snapped up by friends before I've had a chance to properly photograph them. Note to self: Don't make soap on weekends with friends around. If only I didn't have to work in a boring office all week!

mirto2011: You can buy the water soluble paper from Brambleberry!

Hi. I've also tried the water soluable paper and have a few question for those of you having success with it. I've watched the Soap Queen episode and couldn't resist trying it. I've tried a few different designs ranging from simple line drawings to photographs. I have noticed that my pictures fade and blur. What am I doing wrong? I am assuming this is what the hair spray is for and perhaps I am spraying too much, or not enough. I greatly appreciate any tips you may have.

Are you using an inkjet printer or laser? I believe for an inkjet, you need to let the hairspray cure for a day or two.

I use a laser printer and haven't had to use hairspray. I've embedded the paper (with a generous spritzing of alcohol) into the soap within hours of printing. No fading or blurring issues so far.
