Do you average bars of M &P ( 4-4.5 ounces) soap last you in the shower? I am finding mine seem to be vanishing quickly

i add sugar to mine, since i make such small batches i can't really say how much maybe a teaspoon or 1/2 of that to about 8 oz. with some bases it makes it a little rubbery, and with goats milk i lost suds. but they do last longer, "i think" don't know that you can a steraic, but DEFINATELY not sure, sugar i have, stearic i don't, have fun, jan in palatka

opps, for got to add this, some people say that it makes their m&p sticky, i haven't had that problem YET, but i might just be lucky so far, happy soaping

Depending which base you use and how much sugar you add, yes, it can make it sticky.

Mine last quite a long time. I think the secret is that I keep them well away from the water in one of those vertical holders that are suctioned on the shower wall. I dampen the soap then rub it on a boucle to bathe. I'm not one who needs a lot of lather, or even fragrance for that matter, as long as it does it's job.

My face boucle, which I love...
