Helllloooooooooooooo Soap World!
Ok, I'm buzzin' ... like literally excited to be here.
Last week sunday I thought..."uh, I wonder if I could make my own soap" A zillion soap queen youtube videos and hours scouring brambleberry later. Here I am ready to take the plunge.
A bit of my story. I have 2 beautiful kids who had bouts with bad eczema. We have been using raw shea butter for years and it has been such a blessing. it was while I was staring at the shea butter bottle that my light bulb brain went on and I thought of making some shea butter soap.

Because I'm a newbie with babies and limited space, I am going to start with a MP Shea base.
I'm thinking Base + a bit of raw shea + a nice EO = would be a nice soft intro for me.

I've finally got all I need together in my mind and it's time to go shopping. Please wish me luck, I'll be back to share results.
ps... Please feel free to throw any helpful tips and reminders at me

Best of luck! I also got the bug to make my own soap last week and ordered a few days ago. I hope your soap turns out nice and helps your family!

Sounds great! I would add 1tbs of Shea Butter MAX per pound of melt and pour. Adding oils and butters will make the soap softer and decrease your lather. You can add less than that as well! There are lots of Melt and Pour tutorials here; http://www.soapqueen.com/category/bath- ... pour-soap/ Welcome to soap making, have fun! :D
