Today was the first time I tried layering. I think I let my first layer harden too much before adding the second layer because now they are coming apart. Is there any way to "reattach" the layers that separated?

When that hapened to me, I took the layers appart and sprayed well with alcohol and pressed the layers back together, let it sit a while and then it was sort of clued together again.
You can try that. If it doesn`t work then remove the layer and remelt it, and por it back AFTER spraying the other hard half with alcohol, then it should be ok.

If that doesn`t work either just remelt the whole thing, after separating the colored layers so you don`t end up with a brown mess because of several colors blended together.

Good luck! Been doing MP 16 years, so this can be done. But if all else fails just remelt everything in separate colors:)

Waiting too long in between layers, not spraying with alcohol or putting layered soaps in the fridge can all make the layers separate. Hope you were able to get them to stick!

Thank you to both of you. I did spritz with alcohol between layers and did not put them in the refrigerator but I am pretty sure I waited too long between layers. The tutorial I was following said to wait until the previous layer was completely cool before adding the next. I have since watched the BB layering tutorial and see that may be too long. I did spritz the separated layers with alcohol, both pieces, and scored both pieces a little bit and that seems to have done the trick! Thank you again. Nancy
