Hi there,
I'm a newbie and forgive me if anything I am writing is not appropriately placed or
out of context.
I have A LOT of hand soap refill. I stocked up at Costco years ago. Now I am .. well , broke
and trying to save money everywhere I can with the Dave Ramsey method.
I have washing soda, and I'm wondering if I can somehow turn all the hand soap I have into dish soap. I'm assuming something will be needed to add to break up the moisturizers in the hand soap.
And possibly an added surfactant for degreasing.
I did experiment with adding washing soda to the hand soap. I dissolved the washing soda in the water first then added it to the hand soap. It seems a lot more like dish soap now. It has a nice dish soap gel like consistency and uniformly congealed nicely - if that makes sense. I did not shake it but just turned the bottle a couple of times. But my little experiment has left me curious as to what the experts would say in the best way to go about this process.
Thank you for any information. This is a fun journey!

Welcome cj!
Solid handmade soap with enough water to make it a liquid will turn gel like, but you won't have many bubbles.
If you want to use it for cleaning around the house, I would just leave it as is.
I make my own liquid soap, but it's made with potassium hydroxide not sodium hydroxide.
