Hi,

Just wondering what thickness of wire everyone is using to cut their soaps. Piano wire, guitar wire?? What gauge?

Also, how long do you wait until you cut and does the soap trim with a nice edge or does it "chip off"?

I have the Tank from For Craft Sake. The wires are 1.25" apart. For cold process soap, I cut as soon as the soap is hard enough. If I wait too long the edges will crumble. It depends on your method of soapmaking, what oils and butters you use and whether you gel or not.
