Hi Baraka -
I've only done 2 fairs (my kids school and a July 4th venue - which turned out not to be the right venue) but have learned a ton on each one as I keep refining/thinking how I want my booth to represent me and my soaps going forward. I've got another fair I signed up for come October in Berkeley (very close in my neighborhood which is a well attended fair and what I believe *will be* the proper venue). So I myself am thinking of a few things now as I start to make more inventory this month.
Anyway - I posted some thoughts on another thread so check this out.
viewtopic.php?f=6&t=2044I think the key is to go with the enthusiasm and confidence that you have acquired with the last fair. It's all a learning experience!!
I felt that having small smelly samples in a vairety of soap dishes was helpful for my situation. In some cases when people could not decide between two fragrances/soap designs I encouraged them to go for both. And I gave a little discount for 2.
Hope that helps. And I'm happy to answer other specific questions you may have from what I've learned. I just got back from vacation after 2 weeks and should actually be cutting a log soap to show on this forum as I had to leave everyone in suspense as to how it turned out (including myself).
My best
Hilary
