Teach Soap

I personally enjoy pink and purple bath water, but I'm also concerned about what I use as coloring. I don't want anything to stain, such as the tub and the user's skin, and I also don't want to pay $$$ for not-so-healthy chemicals. I use food coloring usually and I haven't had any problems with stains but I don't feel like I'm getting the results I want. I've heard of using cocoa powder for brown coloring but I'm going for the bathing-in-liquid-flower-petals rather than the bathing-in-mud look.

What do you all use as a colorant for your bath bombs?

If this is just for yourself, food coloring is ok. If this is for sale, food coloring is not legal to use for bath/body products in the US and would make your product misbranded.
You can use micas or BrambleBerry carries LaBomb colorants that are meant just for this purpose.

If you click on the link Irena gave you, you can select a color to see it's ingredient list. The INCI names are given, and are what you would put on a label. Micas are the same, pick the one you want and look at the INCI list.

You can use clays for natural coloring too, but I have no idea on other things, mostly because I haven't tried anything else. Many things could change the bath water color, including micas. They don't generally stain the tub, unless you use too much color. The color might give a ring around the tub if it's already dirty, but it cleans right up.
