How can i make my whipped body butter less greasy/oily? I use cocoa and shea butter, babassau oil, vit e, jojoba oil. Ive read somewhere to add cornmeal or cornstarch? Any suggestions? Its solid in the jar but it melts on your skin which is great but it takes forever to soak in so you cant get dressed for awhile :/

Sweet almond oil and apricot kernel oil soak into the skin quickly, so they are often used in bath products like yours. I think avocado oil does as well, but I'm not positive.

body butters are always a bit greasy, its just their nature but adding cornstarch helps, so does using drier oils like Olivia said. I think cornmeal would be way to gritty but I am not sure if we are thinking about the same kind.

Okay, I'll try almond oil and see the difference. Also, I'm not sure how much cornstarch to use in my batches. Do you know a good ratio or should I just sprinkle some in? Do you think there's a different consistency I should notice to tell if I've added enough cornstarch?

Dealt with the same problem!!! Tapioca starch, IMO, is the BEST!!! :wink:

Soapysugar, I couldn't agree MORE about the arrowroot!! My butters have been in high demand since using it in them....not to mention my hubby noticed the difference LOL...THAT is saying something! :mrgreen:
