Why are you freezing your bath bombs?

My bath bombs are in the mold long enough for me to press them together, then they come out. So maybe 30 seconds or so? I have stainless steel molds.

They will get harder as they dry just sitting out in the open air. I've found that they usually need a minimum 8 hours or so of sitting out before use.

Sounds like a recipe issue then. What is your recipe?

1 cup of baking soda
1/2 citric acid
1/2 corn starch
1/2 Epsom salt

1/2 tsp essential oils
2 tsp coconut oil
1/2 tsp water

Soon I'll be adding 1 tsp polysorbate and 1 tsp of mica

It looks like you may not have enough moisture to hold the mix together. Are you spritzing them with witch hazel after everything is mixed?

I'd also recommend converting everything to weight. Using volume measurements can lead to varying amounts each time. Using weight measurements will be much more accurate and lead to consistent results. Most bath bomb recipes are unfortunately given in volume, so use a scale to figure out how much 1 cup of baking soda weighs, how much 1/2 c of citric acid weighs, etc. This is especially important with the essential oils, as they all have different usage rates. Using 1/2 tsp of one might be fine, but with another it may no longer be safe.

I would pull out the cornstarch and epsom salts until you get the basic recipe to work. Then once you have it down, you can add them back in and adjust your recipe accordingly. Also, try a harder oil than coconut oil. It melts at 76 degrees, and that might be too low for your climate. Try something like cocoa butter, which has a slightly higher melting point.

I bought a squirt bottle I was going to use, do I squirt them after they're in the molds?

No, before you mold them. Check out this tutorial: https://www.soapqueen.com/bath-and-body ... -bomb-diy/ It shows the texture you are aiming for in bath bombs before you mold them too.
