I'd like to make some special goodies (soap, lotion, salts) for my sister for her birthday next month. I asked her what scents/smells she likes, and she said anything minty or water-y. I already have Rain from BB which is perfect (I think) for the water-y scent.
I'd like your suggestions regarding a good minty scent. I know I could use just spearmint e.o., but was looking for something a bit "fuller"/deeper. I have been ordering my scents from BB and the Scent Works mainly.
So please help me find a great mint for a great sister!

BB's Moroccan Mint is very very nice. I have never CP'd it so I don't know how it performs.

I like the Eucalyptus & Spearmint FOs fom BB & WSP; also the Garden Mint and Lemongrass Mint from WSP. I just ordered the Peppermint FO from NG so I can't say anything about that one yet!

I have used NG's Peppermint FO in MP but not CP. It smells sweeter than the EO to me, not too strong, I like it.

Just thought to throw in that Indian Peppermint is a great EO that I get from TheChemistryStore.com. I love it in my CP soaps. After 3 months the scent is still strong and pairs great with Spanish Rosemary.

I like the smell of wintergreen or spearment. both are nice on there own. but I got my EOs in a case from eden's garden. I know I know.. not best company and costly. but hubby brought me it and Its nice to use. they are all skin safe but I do use little amounts to be safe.

I have used BB's peppermint 1st distillation and my mom and everyone else that has gotten a bar just loves it. This is one fragrance I would not be without. The last one I made I colored part of the batch with a french red clay. Another that I did I used the merlot mica...both were very nice but the clay gave the soap a very nice feel to it as well.

Thanks for the responses! I decided to order a few "sniffy samples" from BB of the Moroccan Mint and the Spearmint Eucalyptus.
I do have Peppermint EO on hand, too, so that is an option.

I had made an MP soap a while back and used three mints that were EO's from the BB sampler kit and named it Garden Mint; peppermint 1st and 2nd and Spearmint.I sold a few bars at my complex's annual yard sale and one of the ladies said that the scent stayed on her skin. IMO it was very minty without being overbearing, and the Spearmint was not overshadowed by the Peppermint.

Peppermint e.o. cut with a bit of vanilla f.o. makes a really nice combo too, it does make it a bit sweeter though, not sure if that's what you're looking for.

Have you thought about EO blend instead? I love a blend of Peppermint and Spearmint oil.

I made some soap using NG's "Sinus relief" yesterday (using a new recipe too), and I JUST finished cutting it.. WOW. Smells like straight up Vick's.. Can't wait to use a bar when i'm all congested.
