Hi everyone,

I'm really sorry if this has been asked before, I've looked but I'm still super confused!

I'm new to soap making and right now I'm focusing on M & P. I've read tones of books and most seem to refer to EO & FO as if they are interchangable but I know that EO can be a bit more risky when used in too strong amounts. At the moment, I'm only adding enough to have the scent which can be anywhere from 1 to 3 drops.

I'm never sure how much EO to use, (I tend to use them more than FO as I already had a lot on hand), it seems like 1% is the most recommended amount so does that mean that for every 500mls of soap I would have 5mls of EO?

When in Doubt I use the fragrance calculator at MMS. It is located at under calculators and I have never had a problem getting the scents the way I want them or the EOs and FOs seperating.
