Hi
When I use the lye calculator, it says "water needed: 8.96 - 11.84 fluid oz" what is the difference in the soap on which direction I go with the water? (lower amount or higher amount? ) I am making a hot process soap if that makes any difference to the answer.

The lower the water amount the faster the trace (usually) If you are planning on doing swirls or have a fragrance that is known to accelerate (like spices or florals) then you should use the higher water amount. 8)

I usually go the middle of the road, except for accelerating fragrances. Those get the full water amount.
