Hey all, I was trying out some swirls last night, but ended up taking my soap to too thick a trace to really do much. I don't think my FO (Beau Brummel) sped things up, but it got me thinking...what are some fragrances/EOs that don't speed up trace?

Citrus essential oils act as solvents, so those usually give you more time to play.

Awesome! I have some Energy, I'd like to mix it with an orange EO (10X) so I'll try that. Love Black Raspberry, I might have to try that, too.

Does the vanilla in the Black Raspberry discolor?

I've only tried a couple different brands of Black Raspberry Vanilla and they didn't discolor.

is there a way to tell if a fragrance oil is going to be a good one for swirls or do we call it slow trace so you can swirl? I've not swirled yet.

Even if you have a slow tracing recipe, a fragrance can cause it to set up in a hurry! The best thing to do is read reviews for the fragrance. If there are no reviews, just do a small batch to see how it behaves before planning any swirls.
