Teach Soap

Hi all!

Had a friend request a soap scented with "orange and an herb" (she didn't specify). I've been keeping my eyes open for something that incorporates a nice citrus orange with something like basil or sage. I don't think she meant for the herb to be a mint or she could've just said mint, so I'm thinking more like sage, thyme, rosemary, basil, etc.

Any already-blended FOs out there that behave well in CP?

I haven't come across any myself. But if you use brambleberry you could definitely mix your own blend. I would contact your friend and see if you can get more info though. All herbs smell different and you never can guess some peoples taste.

Orange and rosemary sounds nice to me. Could she be thinking of Orange Clove or Orange Spice? Lots of those scents out there.

I know the voices in my head aren't real, but they sure have some great ideas!

There is citrus and cilantro and sweet orange and clover FO's, although it is a little past season for these, so maybe hard to locate now.
I add some clary sage, some black pepper, some sweet orange and some tangerine to create an EO blend that my customers like. You just need to be careful to use the proper (%) amounts of the specific EO's you choose to use.

Someone mentioned clove before, just remember to check the proper usage rates for that and for any eo you use, especially any like anise, cinnamon leaf, cassia etc. because the % you can use of those are exceptionally low (in soap clove and cinnamon is 0.5%, anise is 0.1%, and cassia fcc is 3%).

I do an orange 10 fold with rosemary, scented on the light side. Mmm smell super good!
