Yes. You just have to be sure that you do not over use either one and that they are both body safe or lip safe, depending what you are using the blend for. Also be sure to write the % down and label the bottle just in case you use it for a different product the next time (since each eo has a diff max usage rate based upon the type of product it is going into).

Sure. I would start with toothpicks or q-tips or fragrance blotter papers. That way you won't waste a lot of oils, in case you don't like the final results. Keep good notes!

Thank you all for your replies. I don't have many fragrance oils yet but I can see into the future and it is not pretty. I am also a quilter and 1 whole wall in my sewing room is filled with floor to ceiling cabinets of fabric. Every fragrance I read the description on I want to try. :P :P :P

Glad to hear from another quilter. Soaping is my newest passion but I am an avid quilter. I have no plans to sell soap, I just want to make it and share it with friends and family. I do not go from hobby to hobby. When I find something I love it becomes part of my life. I am a new soaper,a quilter, a fabric dyer, a winemaker and a gardener. Life is full and I am contented.

I have found that sometimes it is better to divide the soap and scent each portion with a different scent, rather than mixing the scents in one batch of soap. For example, when I mixed lavender EO and vanilla FO, the smell was sort of weird and sickly sweet. So I divide the soap, scent part of it with lavender and part of it with vanilla, then pour them into the same mold. So when I slice, each bar is 1/2 lavender soap and 1/2 vanilla soap.

I have a method that has worked well for me so far...I do a test on the EO/FO combination before putting it in a batch of soap using Q-tips and Zip lock bags.

For example, if I want to blend 1 part Lavender EO and one part Red Apple FO, I will dip one end of the Q-tip in the lavender oil and one end in the Red Apple FO. Then I put the Q-tip in a zip lock bag and close it up. A few hours later I will open it up and sniff. If I like it, I will use 50% Lavender and 50% Red Apple in my batch or adjust accordingly if I think it needs more or less of something. I always make sure I stay within the safe usage rates but the possibilities are endless; in fact I recently blended Patchouli with NG's Aloe and Cucumber (which doesn't sound so great, I know) and it was a lovely scent. Also, always make sure you write down what you blended and the amounts, this has happened to me where I had a blend that smelled great but I have no idea what or how much I put in there.

I've actually blended up to 3 combo EO's/FO's using this method and it has worked well, nothing has smelled like cat pee yet!

Good luck, let us know what you try!
