I read that mixing EO with a bit of cornstarch before adding it to the soap mixture helps to prevent fading of the scent. Has anyone tried this?

I tried it and it didn't work for me.

I have tried cornstarch, various clays, "anchoring" EOs...none work to a degree where I can tell, anyway. Some people swear by them, like litsea, but to me, I just smell the litsea instead of the thing I am trying to anchor.

I add 1 oz fragrance per pound of soap. Love it, is generally not fadey at that amount.

Not all fragrances and essential oils are safe to use at that rate. It's always best to check the IFRA guidelines for the FO or EO.
