So I finally got to try out Natures Garden for fragrance oils because my boyfriend bought me a small box worth of fragrnace for my birthday! I also got the little gems mold from Rustic Escentuals and some of their colorants!

I was inspired so I wanted to make some bright soap gems! I used BrambleBerry clear base for all of them and went to work using Fresh Squeezed Orange, Kiwi, Lemon Sugar, body safe Apple Cinnamon and blueberry...

First of all I totally love Kiwi and Fresh Sqeezed Orange! The two fragrances with the combination of Pistachio and Clementine Pop mica from RE looks AMAZING! :D

But then came blueberry!!! Dun dunnnn DUNNNNN! I used BB base, Blueberry fo from NG and Aquamarine Dreams mica from RE. The color looked amazing and the smell was nice. Not my favorite, but it was the first blueberry I ever tried. Then came the unmolding...

The gems were slick with what looked like fragrance oil but it was color and odorless and my mold was pockmarked! What happened?! All the other fragrances worked out and I didn't use any more fragrance than I did with the other ones! Has anyone had problems like this before?

I've never had the blueberry affect my mold. But I've had the oil seep out of my bars. I let them sit longer and the oil absorbed back in. However...soaping with blueberry fragrance oil has made me absolutely positively hate anything blueberry smelling. I had to send the whole batch to my mom just to get it out of my house while it was curing. It was the strongest, sickly sweet smell I've ever had. And I used it very sparingly.

I've never used blueberry from natures garden, but I have used the blueberry from wholesaleplus/sweetcakes. The one from sweetcakes smells like blueberries and I mix it with lime. It is a good scent mix. The one from wsp is more of a blueberry cake scent and does well in cold process soaping. It turns a little dark, but that is it. It never accelerated on me.

I'm even getting to the point where I don't want to use fragrance oils anymore. Too many smells in my soap corner.

Some fragrance oils will damage plastic molds, especially if used at a high usage rate. The clear liquid coming from the soaps was likely glycerin sweat which can be caused by heat or humidity. Nothing to worry about!

But we get to the main question: what about the blueberry? I love blueberries and usually love the smell. But reading what you all just said it makes me wonder if it's worth trying to make BB soap. I really wanted to give it a try but now I am having second thoughts. So overall: would you recommend giving it a shot or not?
