Have a ???. I had ordered stearic acid from another company as I needed for lotion making for a show that was coming up quick, and they were only a state a way. However, when I rec'd my package, lo and behold, instead of the stearic acid that I so needed, was kaolin clay. The company was awesome, refuned my money and told me to keep the clay (5 lbs of it!!). I just don't know exactly what I can use this for? Can this be used in lotion making (and how?) or HP/CP soap making (and how?) or what can it be used for? Help would trully be appreciated! :D

I've seen recipes using kaolin in bath bombs/fizzies.
Here is a description from Mountain Rose Herbs http://www.mountainroseherbs.com/learn/kaolinclay.html:
Its natural adsorbent properties makes it essential in hygiene products and is often found in soaps, scrubs, poultices, deodorants, facial powders and masks. It is the mildest of all clays and is suitable to add to products created for people with sensitive skin. It helps stimulate circulation to the skin while gently exfoliating and cleansing it. It does not draw oils from the skin, so it can also be used on dry skin types without negative results.
Kaolin Clay is high in calcium, silica, zinc and magnesium, which are beneficial for oily, blemished skin. The clay's mildly drying and disinfectant properties help heal existing blemishes and inflammations, while preventing new ones from forming. It can also be used as a scent fixative.
Here is the bath fizzy that Anne-Marie has on her blog using it.

Facial masks, bath bombs, shaving soap... everyone already covered my ideas! LOL  I know a LOT of folks who add kaolin to their base CP recipes for increase glide, apparently makes the lather more silky. Haven't tried it yet though! My kaolin should be here Friday, I'll be trying shaving soap for my hubby and his friend. Will let you know how it goes!

With Lisa's description I think this would be great to make my 12 yr old niece a soap to use on her face, in my Mom's words "she is really starting to get a pizza face". How much would I use in M&P? And any ideas on what kind of FO a 12 yr old might like? If I wanted to make her a mask as well how would I go about that? I remember what it was like to be her age(even though it was a long time ago) and would like to help her out.

I would leave the soap unscented or add just the tiniest amount of tea tree. For the clay, I would go 1 tsp. per lb. of MP base.

Thanks again Soapbuddy. I will get her some made this weekend and shipped out in hopes it helps her at least a little.
