Hi all, I make lip balms and have noticed they turn rancid after 6-8 months. I'm not sure if this is due to the regular plastic containers I use or my ingredients, here is my recipe

167g extra virgin olive oil
85g shea butter
50g beeswax
2g vit e oil
this is to make 50 lip balms
If I use paper lip balm containers would this prolong longevity or can you see something wrong with my recipe?

Your recipe seems fine. I have lip balms that are several years old and still good.
Some thoughts: How are they being stored? Are they being subjected to constantly changing temps? How old are your ingredients before you make the lip balm?
